Macaron Purses – Free Pattern / Tutorial

Forget the neverending pack of Tim Tams; I’ve found the Macaron that lasts forever!

Take a look at this  Free Macaron Coin Purse Pattern  thanks to Craft Passion

This little purse is super cute and almost good enough to eat.  It is quite limited in size  but great to keep some small treasures or piece of jewellery. Of course it would be perfect for keeping a few coins for the parking metre or just those times when you need a little cash.

You could even attach one to your key chain – however you decide to use your macaron purse, you will certainly receive lots of comments.

Don’t just make one, make a batch of them and create a Macaron Croquembouche – just kidding!  But they would make great little gifts or stocking fillers .

Crochet Owl Family Amigurumi Pattern

Crochet is my favourite thing to do when I really want to relax, to me nothing is better than a cold night, a glowing fire or heater  a cup of coffee and a crochet hook & a ball of wool .

I love to crochet toys & small items  and these days there are so many patterns around I sometimes take three days to decide which one to start next .

Now this one seemed perfect for me , ticked all the boxes – a family of three adorable owls.

These cute little fellows could be toys, decorations, the small one could be used on a key ring, you could even use them as pincushions (they won’t feel a thing)  really!

Here is the  Free Owl Family Pattern from the very talented Repeat Crafter Me

Oven Hand Mitt Tutorial

Whenever I am in the kitchen cooking, I am usually distracted thinking about everything else – especially craft projects –  I could be doing instead, and have burned myself more times than I care to remember!  Oven mitts really are a must for me, to prevent lack of identifiable fingerprints from serious burns! I’m just about ready for some new ones and have decided to make my own, to ensure my oven mitts are cute (very important!) as well as functional.  I found this quick and easy free oven mitts pattern from the Idea Room.

These oven mitts really are easy to make, but make  note of what the author says about the Insul~Bright insulating fabric; as she recommends two layers rather than the one layer she originally mentioned.

If you need Insul~Bright for this project you will find it  here

Product of the Month – Brass Magnifying Glass & Tweezer Combination Tool

Brass Magnifying Glass & Tweezer Combination

This is such a handy tool, you will wonder how you ever managed with out it

As the eye sight gets weaker and the arms get shorter it becomes increasingly harder to pick up tiny objects, pull out basting threads from projects, open jewellery pieces  etc.,  this little gem is the answer, it  allows for one handed use so the other hand is free to hold the item securely.

It comes with an attractive brass finish , the tweezers are stainless steel and the lens has powerful 4x magnification
