Adorable Owl Softie Pattern / Tutorial

Hoot! Hoot! this is such a cute pattern  thanks to  Toad’s Treasures, it would have to be the easiest owl pattern I have seen .

As Christmas is just around the corner I am going to whip up a few for gifts.

I am planning to make one “shabby chic” with lovely pastel fabric and trimmed with laces and silk ribbons , I have a picture in my mind, another one I am going to make in little boys fabric and add a few novelty car button, as this one is for a budding rev head , still planning the one for the little girl, something cute & pretty .

My creative juices are flowing, off to make a start !

Macaron Purses – Free Pattern / Tutorial

Forget the neverending pack of Tim Tams; I’ve found the Macaron that lasts forever!

Take a look at this  Free Macaron Coin Purse Pattern  thanks to Craft Passion

This little purse is super cute and almost good enough to eat.  It is quite limited in size  but great to keep some small treasures or piece of jewellery. Of course it would be perfect for keeping a few coins for the parking metre or just those times when you need a little cash.

You could even attach one to your key chain – however you decide to use your macaron purse, you will certainly receive lots of comments.

Don’t just make one, make a batch of them and create a Macaron Croquembouche – just kidding!  But they would make great little gifts or stocking fillers .

Oven Hand Mitt Tutorial

Whenever I am in the kitchen cooking, I am usually distracted thinking about everything else – especially craft projects –  I could be doing instead, and have burned myself more times than I care to remember!  Oven mitts really are a must for me, to prevent lack of identifiable fingerprints from serious burns! I’m just about ready for some new ones and have decided to make my own, to ensure my oven mitts are cute (very important!) as well as functional.  I found this quick and easy free oven mitts pattern from the Idea Room.

These oven mitts really are easy to make, but make  note of what the author says about the Insul~Bright insulating fabric; as she recommends two layers rather than the one layer she originally mentioned.

If you need Insul~Bright for this project you will find it  here
